Man charged with raping teenage girl after meeting online

A man who police say raped a 16-year-old girl after he met her online has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

The 18-year old girl said the accused attacked her at a motel room in the city of Lake Elsinore on Friday night, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s office.

She said the suspect, who was arrested on Sunday, also forced her to perform oral sex on him, prosecutors said.

The suspect faces a possible maximum sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole if convicted.

The victim said the alleged assault occurred in December at a Motel 6 motel in Lake Elinore, according a news release from the Orange county district attorney’s office Friday.

She told authorities she went with the suspect to a friend’s home and had sex with him there, prosecutors told The Associated Press.

The woman told investigators she woke up the next morning and the suspect was at her door, but when she tried to get out, he “continued to beat me and forced me to perform sex acts on him,” prosecutors said in the release.

She reported the incident to the Lake Elinsinore Police Department and the victim reported the assault to police.
