The Australian Socceroos, the A-league and the national team have all been in talks about joining forces, with former Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou set to join the new-look A- League team in 2020.
The Australian Socceroo squad for the 2020-21 A-L season is to be announced on Wednesday and Postecok is set to take charge as the team’s new manager.
“I want to thank Ange Postelg for his hard work and commitment,” Socceroos boss Ange Postecco said in a statement.
The Socceroos have been negotiating for the past year and a half, and Posteecoglong said he is pleased to have a new coach in the job.
“I’m very happy to have an opportunity to take on this responsibility,” Postecogoglou said.
He said the Socceroos had been in discussions for some time and he was very pleased to announce his departure from his previous job with English club West Ham.
“It’s always nice to see new faces in the A.S.L. and Ange has been a great influence on the players and coaching staff,” Posteucoglou added.
Postecoglung said he was delighted to join a club that has a great history in Australia.
“We had a great relationship with Melbourne Victory, and we’re looking forward to working together,” Postegoglou told Aussie Sport.
There are several new players on the Socceroo team, including midfielders and forwards.
Australia have been looking for a coach since Ange Posteaugo was fired in September.

It is unclear if Postecougou will take up the reins of the Socceros next season.
A-League side Melbourne City have also been in contact with the Socceroon boss about joining him in 2020-22.
However, Postecolong said the club’s ownership group wanted to keep him at the club and he would not take a salary.
Former Socceroos striker Steven Vitoria, who is on loan to a Japanese club, said the Aussie players were not going to want to be on a foreign team.
In the past, Postececoglou has said he would like to coach the Socceroneo.
